Day 3’s grooviness

Saturday 17 June 2022

We listened, we thought about all the comments and we found our groove… Today was better!

The wind started off as a seasick inducing lumpiness… but it quickly freshened. We were caught by the mighty U-flag along with the two Richards on the first race. We did clear ourselves (still carrying the UDF penalty) and sail back into 7th position finding our speed and groove, and how lekker it was!

Our second race of the day brought much excitement and joy as we worked ourselves into second position. We held on for some time but lost 3 boats up the last beat to finish 5th in race 8. The wind continued to freshen to a 10knot gust maximum in the afternoon.  We kept things tight and moving with two more eighths.

It was a good day of feeling and finding. Now to keep the boat pointing in the right direction with the shifts.

Thank you to everyone who continues to add their magic to our sailing with their advice and comments!
